RAJD BESKIDY WINTER – TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1.General conditions.
1.1. Rajd Beskidy Winter is a sports and recreational event in the format of an orienteering race.
1.2. The organizer is Stowarzyszenie Rajd Beskidy, 43-300 Bielsko-Biała, ul. Krakowska 183, Poland, tax identification number: PL9372751428.

1.3. The start, finish and the race base are located in the school in Rzyki (Zespół Szkół Samorządowych w Rzykach), Os. Szczęśniaki 1, 34-125 Rzyki. The area of the race includes Beskid Mały and the Wadowice county.
1.4. The competition will be held from 17th to 19th of January 2025.
It will take place regardless the weather conditions.
1.5. The main goal of the competition is to explore Beskid Mały and the Wadowice county, testing navigation skills as well as testing physical and mental condition.

2. Terms of participation.
2.1. The main condition of participation is accepting these Terms and Conditions.
2.2. Only adults (over 18 years old) may participate in the competition. An exception is the AR60 course, where participants aged at least 16 can compete, provided there is an adult guardian on the team.
2.3. Participation in the competition is voluntary. Participants are aware that the competition takes place during the winter season and in a difficult, mountain terrain where the probability of suffering injuries, injuries, accidents etc. is high. Participants are required to call the emergency services themselves, if needed. Participants start on their own risk. In no case will they have any claims or seek compensation from the organizer.
2.4. On the AR150 course, two-person teams of any gender can participate. On the AR60 course, teams of any gender and number of participants are allowed. On the TP25 and TP50 courses, the start is individual.

3. Registration.
3.1. Participants have to fill the application form available on the website www.rajdbeskidy.pl.
3.2. The entry fee is:
- until December 27th, 2024: for the AR150 course 600 PLN (140 EUR) / team, for the AR60 course 200 PLN (50 EUR) / person, for the TP25 and TP50 courses 120 PLN (30 EUR) / person
- from December 28th, 2024: for the AR150 course 700 PLN (170 EUR) / team, for the AR60 course 260 PLN (60 EUR) / person, for the TP25 and TP50 courses 160 PLN (40 EUR) / person

In the bank transfer title please specify team’s name.
Entry fee includes: set of maps (for the AR150 and AR60 courses 2 sets), tracking (only for the AR150 course), professional support for special tasks (for the AR150 and AR60 courses), control cards, start numbers, accident insurance, medal, cups for the winners, dinner at the end of the race.
It is possible to have free accommodation in the gym at the race base under basic conditions.
3.2. The team / participant may resign from taking part in the competition. If the organizer gets the information about resignation until January 13th, 2025 all the money will be returned.
If the organizer gets the information about resignation later, the team / participant can’t request the return of the entry fee.
3.3. The organizer is able to issue a VAT invoice.
3.4. It is possible to sign up for the competition until January 14th, 2025.

4. Race course, maps, time limits, penalties.
4.1. The competition is held on four courses:
4.1.1. The AR150 course - total length is approximately 150 km and 4.200 m of elevation gain (includes: biking – approx. 105 km, running/trekking – approx. 45 km), climbing tasks and other activities.
4.1.2. The AR60 course - total length is approximately 60 km and 1.400 m of elevation gain (includes: biking – approx. 45 km, running/trekking – approx. 17 km), climbing tasks and other activities.
4.1.3. The TP25 course - total length is approximately 27 km and 1.200 m of elevation gain. The entire course is covered on foot.
4.1.4. The TP50 course - total length is approximately 50 km and 2.500 m of elevation gain. The entire course is covered on foot.
Above mentioned distances are approximate, they may vary depending on navigation skills and route chosen by the team / participant.
4.2. The order of completing checkpoints will be shown at the maps. All checkpoints have equal
importance. They are marked by flags with punch device. In some special cases, participants may confirm it by taking a photo and presenting it at the finish line.
4.3. The organizer provides touristic maps and other special maps. Scale from 1:5 000 to 1:50 000. Maps are made on waterproof paper. On the AR150 and TP50 courses it is forbidden to use any other maps and any GPS devices for navigation purposes. On the AR60 and TP25 courses GPS and other maps can be used.
4.4. Time limit is:
- for the AR150 course – 24 hours
- for the AR60 course – 12 hours
- for the TP25 course – 10 hours
- for the TP50 course – 14 hours
The delay limit is 30 minutes, with a time penalty of 5 minutes for each minute of delay. Arriving at the finish line after passing of the delay limit will result in not finishing the race (DNF).
All breaks are included in the time limit.
4.5. If the team fails to complete special task, it will get the penalty whose height will be announced on the map.
Special tasks are not checkpoints.
4.6. If the participant breaks any rule of these Rules of competition, the organizer will award time penalties adequate to the violation committed. The organizer may disqualify the team due to breaking “fair play” rules, great violations or medical reasons.
4.7. The team (applies to the AR150 and AR60 courses) cannot split up on the route. The team is obliged to presence themselves all together at the checkpoints.

5. Results.
5.1. The results are determined by:
First of all: total amount of completed checkpoints.
Second of all: time at the finish line + time penalties.
There is no ex aequo for places 1 to 3. In this case, the result will be determined by an additional task at the finish line.
5.2. Only teams / participants which complete at least one checkpoint will be classified.
5.3. Classification will be based on control cards (alternatively photos from checkpoints without flags). The control card must be in a good condition, which allows to be read. The GPS track is not a proof of a presence at the checkpoint.
5.4. In the case of the absence of the flag in the spot where it should be located, it is necessary to take a picture of the spot.
5.5. Unofficial results will be published no later than on the 20th of January, 2025. Participants are allowed to submit claim (personally, by email or mobile phone) within three days from the publication of unofficial results. After this time the results become official.

6. Resignation.
6.1. In case of resignation, the team / participant must inform the organizer as soon as possible.
6.2. In case of resignation of one of the team members (applis for the AR150 and AR60 courses), other members are able to continue the race but only after organizer’s allowance. Incomplete team will not be classified.
6.3. In case of resignation, the organizer does not provide transport to the race office.

7. Mandatory equipment.
7.1. The mandatory equipment list has been adjusted to the specifics of the race.

All disciplines:
– start number – 1 x per competitor
– headlamp – 1 x per competitor
– shell layer top – 1 x per competitor
– mid layer top – 1 x per competitor
– baselayer top – 1 x per competitor
– long legs – 1 x per competitor
– gloves – 1 x per competitor
– beanie or buff – 1 x per competitor
– magnetic compass – 1 x per team (applies for the AR150 and AR60 courses) or 1 x per competitor (applies for the TP25 and TP50 courses)
– course information and maps (provided by organizer) – 1 x per team (applies for the AR150 and AR60 courses) or 1 x per competitor (applies for the TP25 and TP50 courses)
– set of punch cards (provided by organizer) – 1 x per team (applies for the AR150 and AR60 courses) or 1 x per competitor (applies for the TP25 and TP50 courses)
– survival blanket – 1 x per competitor
– first aid kid (contents specified separately) – 1 x per team (applies for the AR150 and AR60 courses) or 1 x per competitor (applies for the TP25 and TP50 courses)
– cell phone with fully charged battery and app RATUNEK (available at Google Play and AppStore) – 1 x per team (applies for the AR150 and AR60 courses) or 1 x per competitor (applies for the TP25 and TP50 courses)
– GPS tracker turned on all the time (provided by organiser) – 1 x per team (applies for the AR150 course only)
– digital camera – 1 x per team (applies for the AR150 and AR60 courses) or 1 x per competitor (applies for the TP25 and TP50 courses)
– marker – 1 x per team (applies for the AR150 and AR60 courses) or 1 x per competitor (applies for the TP25 and TP50 courses)

Mountain bike stages (applies for the AR150 and AR60 courses):
– mountain bike – 1 x per competitor
– helmet – 1 x per competitor
– front light white (not the headlamp) – 1 x per competitor
– rear light red – 1 x competitor
– cycle repair kit, extra tube for each bicycle, bicycle pump – 1 x per team
– bike lock – 1 x per team

Ski section (applies for the AR150 course):
– skis intended for alpine skiing with a minimum length of 140 cm, snowboard or splitboard – 1 x per competitor
– appropriate boots – 1 x per competitor
Sticks and helmet are not mandatory.
Skis intended for classic skiing are not permitted.

Climbing (applies for the AR150 course):
– climbing harness – 1 x per competitor
– helmet (could be bike helmet) – 1 x per competitor
– belay device – 1 x per competitor
– locking carabiner – 3 x per competitor
– loop min. 60cm – 3 x per competitor

First aid kit equipment:
– pressure bandage – 2 pieces
– triangular bandage – 1 piece
– wound dressing – 4 pieces
– headlamp with the required batteries for each stage – 1 x per competitor
– antihistamine – 4 doses
– anti-diarrhoeal – 4 doses
– medical gloves – 1 piece
7.2. During the race, all participants are obliged to wear start numbers.
7.3. Checks of mandatory equipment may occur during the race at any time and any place. Missing
equipment result in time penalties.

8. Personal data, image protection.
8.1. Participants agree to publish their personal data such as name and surname in race results.
8.2. Participants agree to correspondence by e-mail or telephone related to “Rajd Beskidy” or other races in the future organized by the organizer according to Ogólne Rozporządzenie o Ochronie Danych Osobowych 2016/679 dated 27th of April 2016 r. (RODO). Participant has the right to disagree at any time.
8.3. Participants agree to have their image published in materials related to the race or other
competitions organized by the organizer in the future.
8.4. Apart from the benefits included in the entry fee and prizes for the winners, participants are not entitled to any other gratuities such as remuneration for using image or personal data.

9. Final conditions.
9.1. Participants cannot use any means of transport other than those specified by the organizer (as well as transport organized by third parties).
9.2. Participants are obliged to help other participants as well as third parties in case of emergency. Any time spent on such an assistance will be deducted from the total time spent on the race.
9.3. Participants are required to comply with applicable regulations (especially protection of environment, traffic, moving around private properties, agricultural crops, forests). Their ignorance does not release them from responsibility. Great violations of the regulations may result in participant’s disqualification. The organizer is not responsible for any damages caused to participants by third parties and vice versa. The organizer is not responsible for participants’ personal belongings and bikes.
9.4. The organizer has the right to amend Rules of competition but the participants must be informed about those changes.
9.5. In case Polish and English version of regulations are different, the Polish version is in power.
9.6. In difficult or controversial cases, the final decision will be made by the organizer.
9.7. The final interpretation of Rules of competition belongs to the organizer.
